In searching for that which my work needs to express itself, I defined the square as format and developed a very narrow colour palette. This clear reduction stands in contrast to the breaking of the surface. It is not a contained surface, but a torn, processed area, that has experienced something and has a story to tell.

Through this approach, an interaction with processes of time occurs. The creative process is realised in several work cycles, so that it takes time, while it simultaneously expresses time.

After an intensive artistic phase at the finish of the scholldays jan aine finally studied Architecture at the university of art in order to renounce this profession with the graduation.

Since 2000 he worked shortly as media designer and led afterwards an inhouse design team as Art/Creative Director. 2008 he continued to work in his Kreuzberg studio in a complete analog way again.
